Welcome to Monterey County Mensa!

American Mensa members are a diverse group of people representing all walks of life. Monterey County Mensa members are just as diverse and attend events in Salinas (the county seat); throughout the Monterey Peninsula in cities such as Pacific Grove, Carmel, and Monterey; and throughout the rest of beautiful Monterey County. We also have several Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that allow our diverse members a chance to connect with each other on a national scale.

Each member of Mensa qualified for membership with a score in the top 2% of the population on a standardized IQ test or other standardized test. Would you like to join Mensa? Submit your previous test scores and see the list of tests we accept at Qualifying Test Scores.

What are some of our activities?
See our calendar page for a variety of activities such as brunches, dining out, parties at members' homes, game nights, theatre parties, concerts and more!

Whenever we get together, we usually have lively discussions on many topics. Mensans enjoy sharing and learning about new interests in a wide variety of topics.

In addition to our own local events, there are many regional, national and international Mensa gatherings.

But we are more than just a social organization. Although one of Mensa's purposes, as stated in our constitution, is "to promote stimulating intellectual and social opportunities for its members," another is to "identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity." With this in mind, we provide expertise, knowledge, and charitable funds to programs in our community.
